Cinema 4D

Check out “Dave vs. Goliath”

“Dave Vs. Goliath” is a short film I edited in 2012. It’s one long scene from D. Loriston Scott’s new screenplay. We shot the scene in order to help promote the screenplay in hopes of selling it. Loriston previously scored a hit with his screenplay “Wonderland” that starred Val Kilmer. In addition to the editing, I also was Director of Photography and did the opening title animation and the establishing shot (in Cinema 4D) and the graphics, as well as sharing a Directing credit with Loriston.

It was a fun project shot over the course of two nights at R&J Restaurant in Downey, CA. Much props to the actors and our small crew who did a fantastic job!

If you’re not already aware, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has a bounty of 3D models and textures available for free to the public. Included are models of the International Space Station, Radio Telescopes, Astronaut figures, the Hubble and James Webb telescopes, textures of all the planets and a lot of the moons in the solar system, and a whole lot more. They are useable in just about every 3D package.

I don't feel comfortable using the more inclusive "No animals", because I probably stepped on a bug or shooed away a fly at some point while doing this. Do not attempt any stunts you see on this blog! I don't think there are any stunts, but if there are, don't try them! Leave that to the professional stunt people. If you are a professional stunt person, then feel free to do some stunts using proper planning and technique. If you're not a professional stunt person and you're going to attempt a stunt, take a good long look in the mirror before you do it. You'll want to see your body fully intact one last time.
